The Blue Devil Divers from the Niagara District, under the directions of Coach Christian Torres, will be hosting their first invite this weekend – the April Fools Diving Invite.  The event will take place April 7th at the Steele Hall Natatorium, SUNY Fredonia, Fredonia, NY 14063.  They are still accepting entries (due by the day of the meet); ONLY $15 per event (board)!  This group is excited to host this event and looks forward to having fellow Niagara diving members participate!  For more information, contact Christian Torrest at 716-467-0743 or bluedevildivers@gmail.com

In November 2010, Coach Crawford of the SUNY Fredonia Diving Team collected 3 young talented individuals to start a Club Diving Team; National Champion and All American Kelly SPongholz, Heather Robin and All American Christian Torres.  Within one month these individuals became the coaches of the Blue Devil Divers; after 3 years of building the program, Christian is the remaining 1 of 3 coaching for this club team.

In 2011, the Blue Devil Divers attended their first meet, the Halloween meet.  They had a great time and made the decision to continue with competitive diving and participating in meets.  During this year, Christian collobarated with other coaches around the Niagara District to create a meet schedule; the goal was to provide more opportunities for all of the athletes to compete.  They succeeded with a meet schedule of at least one meet per month.

Currently the Blue Devil Divers are trained by Head Coach Christian Torres, All American Sarah Ficarro, Honorable Mention All American Ashley Keller and Zone Qualifier Katelyn Haley.  They will be heading to the Niagara District Championship next month at SUNY Geneseo.
